Mon., Oct. 9: Forever passionate about hawks, Tom Humphrey has a sub-permit for banding raptors. Join us as Tom presents “One Year Banding Raptors”. Luther Memorial Church at 7:00 P.M.

Sat., Oct. 28: York Audubon’s Annual Bird Seed Pick-up Day. 9:00—3:00. at Record Club of America, Manchester, PA. Coordinator: Dick Humbert 717-968-5036.
Mon. Nov. 13: South Mountain Audubon Society board member Linette Mansberger takes us on one of her recent wild adventures in “Tanzanian Safari” Luther Memorial Church. Time: 7:00 P.M.

Sat., Dec 2: Beginners’ birding trip to Conowingo .
Dam, especially to view eagles. Meet at Shrewsbury Commons parking lot adjacent to the McDonald’s at 9 AM to carpool. All are welcome. Leader: Chuck Berthoud 717-608-2614.
Mon., Dec. 11: “Member’s” Best—an Evening of Sharing”. You are invited to bring your hobby, your collection, photo albums, etc. Display tables, media projector, and laptop will be available. Christmas refreshments will be shared on this festive evening.. Luther Memorial Church. Time: 7:00 P.M.

Mon. Jan. 8: Emeritus Professor at York College of PA and President of York County Audubon, Carolyn Mathur pairs her birding and photography skills in her presentation titled “A Photographer’s Tour of Iceland”. Luther Memorial Church, Time: 7:00 A.M.
Sat., Jan. 13: Trip to Gettysburg National Battlefield for our annual Winter Wildlife Watching tour with licensed guide Dave Weaver. Coordinator: Tish Swam 717-235-2578. Meet inside the Visitors’ Center at 12:45 for the 1:00 P.M. tour. Fee required. Inclement weather date is Jan. 20..
Mon., Feb 12: Avid nature photographer Henry McLin often travels to Arizona and upstate New York to visit his children and grandchildren. He finds time to explore and photograph in those beautiful spots. Join us as Henry shares his photographic treasures in ‘The Accidental Arizona Photographer”. Luther Memorial Church, Time: 7:00 P.M.
Thur. Mar. 8: Trip to Middlecreek Wildlife Management Area to witness the spectacle of thousands of snow geese. Leader: Carolyn Mathur 717-309-7899. Meet at the Galleria Mall near Red Robin at 8 A.M. to carpool.
Mon., Mar. 12: PA Audubon’s Vice-President and Executive Director Greg Goldman brings a broad range of experience to the organization. He will share his background and his initiatives with our local chapter as we meet and greet him. Luther Memorial Church, Time: 7:00 P.M.
Sat., Apr. 7: Annual York Audubon Society Banquet at East Berlin Area Community Center. Come early for silent auction, raffle and 50/50. Dinner served at 6:00 P.M. Afterwards, Gettysburg photographer Bonnie Portzline presents “Birds With a. Gettysburg Address” highlighting her best photos and most interesting stories, including avian connections to the battlefield and soldiers. Cost: $20 per person. Thurs. June 7: Beginners’ bird walk at Kiwanis Lake to view rookeries of great egrets and black-crowned night herons. This area has been designated an Important Bird Area by PA Audubon. All are welcome. Meet at the small bridge at the lake at 8:30 AM. Cameras recommended! Leader: Tish Swam 717-235-2578.
Sat., June 9: Annual York Audubon Society Picnic . All are welcome to join us at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center at 41 Walnut Street, Columbia, PA 17512.
A pavilion and picnic tables provide beautiful views of the river. Meet at 12 noon. Bring a covered dish to share and your utensils.

For details on field trips, please call the leaders. Specific trips are limited to a certain amount of people. All participants are requested to call the leader prior to the to the trip and notify the trip leaders of your interest to insure your spot.
